Nursery News Fri 13th September
Phew- we made it to Friday! What a week! We have been so busy in Nursery, making new friends, exploring new things, and learning to be independent. We are all ready for a relaxing weekend! Next week our theme of ‘Me, Myself and I’ continues- as we start to look at families more in depth, learning about how different these can be.
Open Evening Tuesday 17th September
Arrival from 5.30 pm for a 5.45 pm start.
Please remember this is for all parents of Nursery children. It would be helpful if this was attended by adults only. We appreciate this might be difficult, and you certainly won’t be turned away should you need to bring your child!
Baseline Consultations 1st October
New to Nursery parents- please don’t forget to sign up for an appointment. The sign-up sheet is in Nursery near the coat pegs.
Speech and Language
The next Speech and Language drop in at Thirsk Children’s Centre is the 19th September. If you have concerns about your child’s understanding of language or speech, you can simply drop in to speak to a Speech and Language Therapist from 9 – 11 am.
Unfortunately, due to the Health and Safety training required, Nursery is unable to offer a School Dinner at lunch time. A big thank you to all those parents who had to supply a Packed Lunch at quite short notice. We thought our Health and Hygiene certificates would enable us to provide a School Dinner from the kitchen, but this was not to be the case.
You are welcome to provide a bottle, however we do have water and milk for the children to drink- both throughout the day from the self-service snack area, and at lunchtime. If you do provide a water bottle, please ensure it is water and not juice. Thank you.
We believe that everyone is now signed up to Tapestry- hooray! If we have missed anyone, please come and tell us.
Pop up Library
Thirsk Library visits Nursery every half term to do a ‘Pop Up’ library event. You are welcome to come and check out some books with your child, or we can do this for you. You must be signed up with the Library to do this. We have the forms in class, please ask a member of the team for one. You can return the form to us and we will process the information with the library.
Thank you for reading,
Mrs Wall, Miss Wood and Miss O’Brien.
