Nursery News

A MASSIVE thank you to all the lovely people who helped with resources for our Christmas Craft session. It really is the season of goodwill.

Christmas Performance

Nursery and Reception are doing a joint performance on December 10th.  The hall doors will open at 9.30 am for hot drinks and mince pies – the children will be on stage and ready to perform at 10 am.  We will be selling tickets from the classroom, priced at £1 each. We have 5 returned slips with ticket request, but only two payments. If you have paid and not received your tickets please speak to a member of the Nursery team so we can sort this out for you. Every child is assigned two tickets to begin with, then we release more on request- but all tickets are £1 each.

The Nursery children will be dressed as angles for the performance. Nursery children will need to wear black leggings or joggers, and a plain white long sleeved t-shirt for performance day. We will take a photograph of your child as an angel for you to keep, so you don’t need to panic about getting a picture at the event. Please send your child dressed in this way on performance day. For those children that stay all day, please send a school jumper in with them for after the performance.

Reindeer Visit

On December 18th Nursery will be walking to Thirsk Garden Centre to visit the reindeer there! We will be writing our Christmas wish list on the days before we go, and leaving them with the reindeer to give to Father Christmas! There is a permission slip for you to sign in the classroom tomorrow. If anyone would like to help us walk there we would be eternally grateful!

Christmas Party

Our Christmas Party is on the 19th December. Children can attend in non-uniform in their best party gear! We will be asking for help with the food, a list with suggestions will be going up in the classroom on the 9th December, please sign up for what you would like to donate.

Christmas Lunch

This is happening on the 20th December. Please book your child in at the office if you would like your child to have a Christmas dinner. Our morning session will finish at 12.15 pm to accommodate going to the hall.

Teaching and Learning

Our Wow Words for Text Detective remain the same next week; Celebration, Gift, Bright, Peaceful, Noisy and Excited. Our books are Dear Santa and Shhh Santa! The children will be making their own version of the flap book Dear Santa.

After the children leave on Friday, the Nursery Team are staying to make an Elf’s Workshop. This will be our resource for teaching lots of shape, space and measure skills over the following weeks.

Could you help with resourcing some of our activities? We require toy catalogues and wrapping paper please.

Thank you for all your amazing support,

Mrs Wall, Miss O’Brien and Miss Wood
