Share a Story Morning- Books at Bedtime

On Monday the 11th November in our Text Detective session, we are starting to read the story ‘Bear Snores On’ by Karma Wilson.

Throughout the week we will be talking to the children about the importance of a bedtime routine- something which parents mentioned as an area of difficulty at parents evening. When we discuss this, we will be including how important, and lovely, it is to share a story at bedtime.

To celebrate books at bedtime, we would like the children to come dressed in Pyjamas on Monday 11th November. We will be wearing ours as well, and we will be setting up cosy reading areas around the classroom. Our fantastic helpful huddle will be in the class, so that every adult can sit and read all morning with small groups of children.

Catherine Marsden, our health visitor, will be available for you to speak with at pick up times on this day – she is an expert on solving bedtime routine problems!

On Friday the 15th November we would like the children to bring their favourite bedtime story to school for Show and Tell.

Keep cosy and read on!
